Become a Supporter of the Rail
The Brooklyn Rail is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We distribute our journal free of charge, and our devoted staff, editors, and contributors work on an entirely voluntary basis. We rely exclusively on the philanthropy of foundations and individual donors to meet our production, operation, and program expenses.
Sometimes I feel like if it weren't for the Rail, there wouldn't be a place in New York for art, books, and culture in general! Katy Siegel
The Rail is an eminently readable, informative, and intellectually wide-ranging publication, alert to current trends, controversies, and ideas, and filled with necessary information. It is great to have ones brain shaken up by such a lively venue! What would we do without it? Nancy Spero
I feel that the vital energy of non-conformism has been given a sporting chance again in the Brooklyn Rail, and applaud its intrepid inquisitiveness. In the pages of the Rail we always can expect the unexpecteda lure I never can resist. Dore Ashton
